About

Hope Can Cure Cancer is a club at Arcadia High School in Arcadia, California.

Mission

This club is dedicated to promoting cancer awareness and raising funds to help the fight against cancer, which takes away from us 7.6 million people each year.* To achieve these ends, Hope Can Cure Cancer, with help from the American Cancer Society (ACS) organizes many events, from fundraisers to educating students about preventing cancer.

Activities

Unfortunately, although progress is being made, the war on cancer has not yet been won, and there are those who must personally fight a battle within their own bodies. Hope Can Cure Cancer club salutes these heroes, who must be the bravest and strongest of us all, and would like them to know that they have our full support. During holidays, the club’s members take time out of their lives to create handcrafted sentiments to send to cancer patients, and over winter break, visit the local hospital to fill the halls with Christmas carols.

At the end of each year, in June, Hope Can Cure Cancer club participates in a 24-hour long Relay for Life, a massive event that celebrates survivors, fundraises, and spreads awareness.

How to Join

Any student of Arcadia High School is welcome to join us in our crusade against cancer. Visit us during lunches on Tuesdays in F7, Mr. Tierney’s room.
