Meeting - 12/16/08

Hey!

Christmas is rolling around ^^ Guess everyone's excited about winter break, and their tests all crammed on Thursday, right?

Well this Saturday, as most of you know, we're going to go caroling. For the details, see below =) I just copied and pasted Christine's e-mail for those who haven't seen it.

When: Saturday, December 20th

Where: Methodist Hospital (300 W Huntington Dr, Arcadia, CA)

Time: Meet at the hospital lobby at 9:45 am

We'll start caroling around 10 am, and sing our hearts out until 11. Then we get food. Yum <3

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy...

And yes, today we made cards and watched the movie.
Soon, next Saturday, we'll be going to the memorial hospital to go caroling! Yayyy. Thanks to those of you who signed up already. If you haven't, check with the officers next week to sign up.

Also, next week we'll be making a special kind of craft for the patients we see during the caroling, so be prepared =D

Hi!

We hope you enjoyed the movie today... hopefully we'll finish it next time!

Get ready for next week; we're going to make holiday cards for the cancer patients. The officers will bring supplies for you as usual, so you don't need to worry about that.

And as Christine said, SAVE THE DATE- December 20th (Saturday) is when we're going to go caroling at the memorial hospital. It's from 10-11 AM. We'll update you with more details like said.

All we did today was eat, eat, eat, and watch A Walk To Remember.

Hopefully we can finish the movie in the upcoming meetings.
But soon, we'll have more activities coming up for us to do- we'll be making holiday cards in December, go caroling...

Meeting - 11/18/08

Hello...

So this week, we made Thanksgiving cards, haha. And talked a bit about Walk For Hope. Well, Vivy did =D Thanks to everyone who went! We hope you had fun. Join in next year for more fun!

As for T-Shirts, email us (hopecancurecancerclub@yahoo.com) with your name and shirt size to be added to a list. Shirts will cost approximately $10. They'll be pink with an embroidery of our club name and symbol.

Just a heads up for what's going to be happening next week and on: next week, we'll have a Thanksgiving potluck! YAY! You don't have to bring food, the officers will take care of that for ya ;)

Soon, in December, we will make Christmas cards too (haha!). Then, we'll go caroling just as school ends for winter break, for cancer patients. But we'll talk about that more later.

Meeting - 11/4/08

Hey,

Well, since some of our officers weren't here today, we watched A Walk To Remember during the club meeting. It's a really great movie. Though we didn't finish, we might watch the rest sometime in the future!

The walk will be on Sunday from 10-12 AM at City of Hope. Come early so you can enjoy the free food and stuff! You can go as early as around 7. An email may be sent out for further information on where to meet. Right now, it's tenatively at the big water fountain in front of the hospital. We'll update you with more info later!

Also, our next meeting is not next Tuesday (we have no school, YAY). It'll be two weeks from today. Sorry! Haha.

Meeting - 10/28/08

Hi again xD

Hmm... well, today was the potluck, and I hope you guys all had a lot of fun eating the food people brought!

Anyway, a quick reminder about Halloween cards and Walk for Hope:

-Cards were due this week; if you forgot to report how many cards you made, talk to an officer at the next meeting and we'll fix your hours up for you. We won't be accepting any more cards next week though, sorry!

-Walk for Hope is coming up! We know we're getting annoying with the constant reminders, but really, YOU SHOULD GO. Sign up online (by credit card) HERE. Our team name is, again, Pink Apaches. If you would like to pay via cash, bring $25, all your information needed to register (check the registration form and write down all the info needed), and give it to an officer next Tuesday.

EDIT: If you could email Vivy, our president, with all the information located on the first page of registration as soon as possible, that'd be great.

To get the information, just click the link mentioned, then click "register as a team member". Then fill out the form, and either screenshot it or copy it and send the stuff to Vivy's email.

Meeting - 10/21/08

Hey there!

As you all remember, today we spent most of our meeting making Halloween cards for the cancer patients at Methodist Hospital. Thanks for all who turned in cards! If you would still like to earn volunteer hours for making cards, bring them by next Tuesday (our next meeting). Remember, it's three for an hour =)

Also, next week we're going to have a Halloween potluck. Everyone's welcome to bring food or candy or drinks! We'll supply the cups, plates, and utensils though. Come in at lunch on Tuesday, Oct. 28th for a yummy feast~

Lastly, an upcoming event is Walk for Hope. Briefly, it's a simple walk around the campus of City of Hope, a cancer center and research institute in Duarte. Before the walk though, there will be free breakfast, events, and booths to look at (for free stuff, haha!).

If you would like to go, the cost is $25.

Sign up HERE. Click "Register Online as a Team Member" if you'd like to pay via credit card. Our team name is Pink Apaches. If you'd like to pay by cash, however, go ahead and bring $25 to the next HCCCC meeting and give it to one of the officers. We'll take care of the registration for you.

HCCCC First Meeting!

Hey there =)

So today was the first meeting of Hope Can Cure Cancer Club. For those who came, we hope you enjoyed it and had some fun (and candy ;D). For those who didn't, join us next week (Tuesday @ lunch, H-7). Oh, and sorry again for that room mix up. It won't happen again, we promise >.>

A brief overview of what we did:
-Introductions
-Information about events taking place throughout the year
-Charades!

Next week, we'll start discussing upcoming activities, such as Halloween cards for cancer patients. Remember, it's three cards for an hour of community service! Good deal.

Also, for those interested in Walk for Hope, once again it takes place on November 9th, 2008 at City of Hope. If you want to get ahead of things, check the informational site out HERE. It's really fun, so at least consider going to it =)

Hey there!
Here are just a few announcements:

--Next Tuesday, please come by the rally court to pic up boxes for Pennies for Patients! You should be walking around lunch asking for donations. At the end of lunch, please return to the rally court to turn in the boxes. Volunteer hours will be given.
--February 22nd--Battle of the Bands. Because the proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society, we will be selling the tickets. If you available some day at lunch, please contact one of the officers, or email me at hua.serena@gmail.com and I will find a spot for you to help out. Volunteer hours will be given.
--Valentines Day cards--if you have some time on your hands, please help make some cards for the cancer patients. please make the messages appropriate!
--T-shirts? Because of the problems with the current t-shirt design, we need more ideas for the club t-shirt. please submit to one of the officers or Ms Wright in j7.
